The first Teaching Effectiveness Course (TEC) of the year kicked off on February 1, 2024, with an insightful session on the University Virtual Learning Environment or UVLê, the University of the Philippines’ learning management system or LMS. Organized by the Office for the Advancement of teaching, the session featured Dr. Miguel Francisco M. Remolona, Director of ILC Diliman, as the keynote speaker.

Dr. Remolona introduced UVLê as more than just a digital extension of the classroom, wherein  it’s a dynamic space where educators can streamline their teaching, engage students effectively, and integrate technology seamlessly into their courses. He guided participants through essential features such as accessing UVLê via DilNet and UP Mail, customizing user profiles, and linking UP Mail for a more effortless and secure experience.

Going beyond the basics, Dr. Remolona demonstrated how UVLê empowers teachers with tools tailored to their needs. He walked the audience through key functionalities under the basic teacher role, including CRS-UVLê integration, setting up course pages, and building interactive learning modules. His hands-on approach made the platform’s capabilities more tangible, showing educators how to optimize their use of UVLê for a smoother, more engaging teaching experience.

Dr. Remolona was assisted by Ass. Prof. Adelson Chua, the Training Education & Development PDA of ILC Diliman, together with ICT Associates Ms. Carrisse Michaela Serrano and Ms. Pauline Angel Carag, as well as ICT Assistant Ms. Janine Aira Ribao.
